The below consultation document is about "Having your Say". Submissions for the review of the Foreshore and Seabed Act 2004 closes at 5pm Friday 30th April 2010 - which is very soon! The Māori Party was created because of this very issue. It is an opportunity for our Hapū and Iwi to continue advocating for our traditional kaitiakitanga roles for our moana. It is an opportunity to advocate for the protection of our moana and coastal environs from further pollution, exploitation of its natural resources, and overall degradation. Finally,  it is an opportunity to protect and keep safe our cultural heritage, our mātauranga regarding these realms, particularly our knowledge on our mahinga kai, wāhi tapu, taunga ika, environmental sustainable management practices and so forth.
