Kāpiti Coast District Council, (KCDC) and Ngāti Raukawa have been involved in a successful MoP for almost 15 years. In February 1994 a Memorandum of Partnership was signed between Te Ati Awa ki Whakarongotai Inc, Te Rūnanga o Raukawa Inc, Te Rūnanga of Toa Rangatira Inc and the Kāpiti Coast District Council. Each of the Iwi are represented by two delegates elected by their Hapū. The representative group is formally known as “Te Whakaminenga-o-Kāpiti”, (TWoK). A new MoP between KCDC and TWoK, was signed on Friday 28th March 2008. The current MoP builds on the previous 1994 version.
